Cheddar Gorge - Wookey Hole   

Leave The Plaine c 9.30am and spend the morning walking, climbing or caving in the magnificent limestone inland cliffs that form the ancient and beautiful gorge in the Mendip Hills. After morning tea/coffee a trip to Wookey Hole with it's Witch's Cavern is fun and completes a great day out!

If you need more witchery then Glastonbury is only a cauldron throw away which crystals and warlocks and healing aplenty

 

Wells Cathedral, market and Medieval Town

Wells is a great little city and well worth a wander around! Leave The Plaine after your sumptuous breakfast and take the A366 towards Wells. This winding easy to follow road takes you all the way to Wells through rolling countryside and tiny villages. See Jack and Jills famous hill on route and marvel at the beauty of Glastonbury Tor in the distance as you come along the hogback to Wells.

Wells Cathedral rivals Bath for beauty & charm and with the Wells Cathedral school located nearby its great to listen to music through the City!

On Wednesdays and Saturdays theres a great Market, the Bishops Palace is open for tours and tea and the main town with its water running through it was the location for the film Hot Fuzz

A great day out can be had in Wells!

 

Wells and Glastonbury

Add Glastonbury onto your Wells itinerary to see an eclectic town steeped in history and mystery with druids wanding, witches at every turn and a variety of great vegetarian and organic eateries. If you're feeling sprightly there will be time to walk the steep hill and enjoy the truly stunning 360 degree panoramic view of the rolling Somerset countryside

 

Walking along the Canal to Bath

Drive to Dundas and park by the Canal. Walk into Bradford on Avon along the beautiful Kennet and Avon canal and enjoy a cup of tea in traditional surroundings in the town. Then wander across the bridge and explore the lanes where the mill workers plied thier trade. After a light lunch walk back along the river to the weir cut up to the canal and across to see the canal as its travels above the river on a bridge.

Canoes, barges or bicycles can also be hired for this trip

Alternatively go to Dundas and walk in to Bath along the area of the canal known as little Venice! Explore the gardens of Bath, the newly opened Holborne Museum as well as the lanes and shops of this beautiful city
